Cannot sign into Dropbox from iPad app

Hi,
Running v 10.43 on iPad, adding an Expense item:

I tap Files, Link a File, Add a File, Download a file from Dropbox.
I get the dialog message "Please first sign-in to your Dropbox account.
I tap "Sign-in".
The dialog disappears and takes me back to an empty "Tap a File to Link it" window. I do not get the option to sign-in to Dropbox and cannot link the file I am trying to link.

(In case it matters, I am already logged into Dropbox in the Dropbox app.)

This behavior persists even if I restart the iPad.

How can I resolve the problem and successfully link a file to Dropbox?
