TravelTrackerPro v5 download error from TripIt

TravelTrackerPro v5 download error from TripIt

Postby conao » Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:05 pm

Hi,

I have just updated my i Pad's TravelTracker Pro to v5.0 but then, downloading data from TripIt results only in Flights info, nothing else. My current trip includes trains, hotels and rental cars, but all disappeared after the update (it was working fine before).

I didn't dare to upload anything to TripIt afetr that, afraid that it could erase the data there also. By the way, the data is still ok in TripIt. I also didn't make any download in my iPhone to keep the info right there, at least. So, I can't say anything about the iPhone app or uploads to TripIt. Interesting to say that the info was still complete after the update, until I tried to refresh it.

Anybody else experiencing this issue? A possible bug in the new version?

Regards,

Marconi

Same problem

Postby paulfanner » Sat Jan 08, 2011 4:56 pm

I am having the same Tripit download error on past trips that conao has reported and it has not been fixed by the latest version (5.02).
Prior to version 5, all was working well on downloading past trips. However I had to re-install TravelTracker Pro v 5.0 because the upgrade did not work properly (it could not open correctly or see any of my existing trips), and I had not done a backupo, so as a result, I had to re-download 30 past trips from Tripit and many are missing details such as hotels, car hire etc. Please correct this bug!

Hi again,

As paulfanner pointed out, it seems it happens only to past events, except flights. I added a rental car to a future date on my current trip in TripIt and synced my iPhone. As with the iPad, all events disappeared, except the flights, but the new rental car was there. Although not as bad as I thought, I'd still like you to fix this and allow the whole trip to be seen, not only future events.

Thanks,

I believe the problem involves the concept of "Past" and "Upcoming" trips and entries. We allow you to download "Past" or "Upcoming." If you happen to be downloading a current trip which has past items, I believe the past items will not be downloaded.

I will be researching this further in an effort to resolve this.

My main problem does not relate to downloading past items on current trips, it relates to past items on past trips. In v.5, tripit downloads take much longer than they used to. I currently have 33 past trips in tripit and I lost them all from TravelTrackerPro v5. I am unable to download all the trip items of these trips back onto TravelTrackerPro, however long it sits there - only flights reliably come back, with some hotel details.
However, I have also found that if I download my upcoming trips whilst I am in the middle of a trip (because I've arranged a new trip on tripit), the past details of my current trip disappear from my current trip! This is extremly annoying and never happened on previous version of TravelTrackerPro.
I have also noticed that in v. 5 the arrival terminal of flights is no longer shown. This is also very annoying if you are arranging for someone to pick you up. Again, the arrival terminal was shown in previous versions. Please can you re-instate this important piece of information?
I really would be grateful if you could sort these problems out as a matter of urgency.

If download problems persists, please contact us directly. It sounds like those having this problem are using a hacked version which will exhibit this behavior. If you have indeed purchased TravelTracker from the app store, please update to the latest version via the App Store.

To all those who are using a hacked (pirated) version to "try out" TravelTracker, it is important that you purchase it directly from the App Store as hacked versions have unpredictable behavior.

Scott,
I am certainly using the latest version of TravelTracker Pro (5.02), an earlier version of which I legitimately purchased from the itunes app store (I purchased the Pro version, although I'm afraid I can't remember the version number of the version I purchased). I am not sure how to contact you directly to resolve these issues, but they are still causing me endless problems - please advise).

I am having a similar issue. I upgraded to the iPad 3 and when I loaded travel tracker (which i had previously used on my iPhone and iPad, and attempted to download from Tripit, I get a timed out error and it only loads data for my upcoming trips . It shows previous trips back to January 2012 but there is no data in them and it doesn't load any trips before 2012. I need all my data in the app or it is useless and I may as well use the Tripit app. Please help! It is working fine on my old iPad and my iPhone. FYI this is the only device with the latest apple OS

This is a bug we are aware of and is due to those downloading Past trips when you have MANY trips. The routine downloading the past trips is timing out as it is taking too long to download the many past trips.

I am sorry for this but we are trying to prepare an update as quickly as possible.
