Unable to Export

Unable to Export

Postby ginarcameron » Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:08 am

I noticed last week that one of my 12 receipts did not sync to Dropbox. This week there is no Dropbox icon on my export screen for individual logs. I did go to Safari and enable cookies, still not Dropbox icon for individual logs. There is a Dropbox icon from the Options menu when on All Logs - but it does not sync any files with Dropbox. XpenseTracker has been sooo easy to work with up to this point. Please advise ASAP!

With the new version of XpenseTracker (7.0), we have changed one preference into three. The three preferences found in the Prefs screen are:

Backup Services
Export Services
Sync Services

If you are trying to export your files, please go into the Prefs screen within XpenseTracker and go to the Export Services section. Then select Dropbox for Export Services. This will re-enable Dropbox for exporting reports.

If you have any issues after doing the above, try signing out of Dropbox and signing back in to re-establish your permission for XpenseTracker to access your account.

I have gone through all the steps recommended. I still have 1 or 2 images that do not sync every time. I tried emailing the images to myself and even though the app spent a lot of time sending the email, it was never received.

I am not sure what might be causing this. When emailing, you are always up against the limitation of the size of the email (typically 20 megabytes). However emailing 1 or 2 images would not reach this limit. One bug in the app I am aware of is the Black & White option when exporting images. This causes the images to grow quite big (rather than what you would expect it do, that is shrink the photo). Please be sure the Color option is selected. When you go into the expense entries and tap the Photo Receipt field, are you able to preview the image? If you can that would insure the image is safely stored on your device and should most definitely be able to be exported.

If you require further assistance please email me directly at scott@silverwaresoftware.com

Thank you, Scott. I believe changing to "color" was the fix. BTW-in spite of the challenges I have faced, I have recommended Xpensetraker to several fellow consultants.

What totally baffles me is the that Black & White option works for most people. Only a few report the problem which is making it difficult to debug.

Anyone would like to assist me in resolving this issue should please email their photo receipts for the log when this problem happens. I believe the problem is caused by certain photo receipts but I am not 100% sure. My email is scott@silverwaresoftware.com.

Thanks everyone for overlooking this bug.
