Number in icon?

I am using bizxpensetracker and love the app but cannot for the life of me figure out what the little number in the red circle in the upper righthand corner of the app icon is trying to tell me. Can someone please explain this to me?

It means you have an entry which you have created and began entering but have not completed. For instance, you have entered the starting mileage for a mileage entry but have not yet entered the ending mileage. OR, you have entered a time entry and entered the start time but did not enter the ending time.

Does this seem right. The entry should also show in the expense list with a yellow background.
